How to Make a Beautiful Easter Charcuterie Board
You’ll first need to decide what type of board you’ll need. This will depend on how many people you’re serving, what type of board you’re making (all desserts versus meats and cheeses, etc), and if it’s an appetizer or main course. This article can help you choose the right charcuterie board dimensions for your needs or find helpful information if you’re not sure how to make a charcuterie board.
Once you’ve decided on the board you’ll be using, it’s time to head to the store to pick up lots of sweet treats! Having a list ready will help ensure you get everything you need without buying too much or too little.
When it’s time to assemble your board, decide if you’ll be putting any cute Easter accents directly on the table. It’s easiest to do this first, so go ahead and place it now. This example uses Easter grass, colorful little Easter eggs, and bunny ears.
Line the board with some parchment paper. This is optional if your board is food-safe, but it will also help protect your board from any food spills or stains.
Next, place any small bowls onto the board, then fill them with colorful candies, berries, or other small food items. Use different-sized bowls if you have them to increase visual appeal.
Now you’ll simply add the remaining ingredients to your festive board, rearranging as necessary until it’s exactly how you like it!
How to Make an Easter Cheese Board
There are a few different ways to make an Easter cheese board. If you want to go with all savory food items, choose soft cheeses that can be molded into a carrot shape, such as Boursin or flavored cream cheese. Press finely shredded cheese into the surface to make it look like a carrot, then use parsley or other herbs for the stem. You can also shape it into an egg, then “glue” chopped herbs onto it with a little sour cream. Both of these ideas are in the photo below for reference:
Another fun idea is to use a bunny cookie cutter to make bunny-shaped cheese. This could be a large bunny made out of brie or camembert, or tiny bunnies made out of provolone or cheddar. Try making crispy bunny-shaped tortillas or pita bread! You can also find bunny-shaped crackers at some stores this time of year (the Annie’s brand has cheddar bunnies and mini cheddar graham crackers).
Ideas for an Easter Brunch Charcuterie Board
Who wouldn’t want to snack on a delicious grazing table for Easter breakfast? If you have guests in town for Easter weekend, or if you’re looking for a great way to make Easter morning easier, consider putting together an Easter brunch board. The fact that eggs are already such an integral part of Easter means that this board practically makes itself. It’s always been a huge hit and is such a fun charcuterie board to make!
Here are some ideas for small bites to add to your board:
- Hard-boiled eggs, halved (chicken or quail eggs)
- Colored hard-boiled Easter eggs, left intact for color
- Mini croissants
- Honey-glazed ham slices
- Smoked salmon
- Sausage links
- Apricots – fresh slices or dried
- Baby carrots – if you can find them, go for the ones with the stems intact
- Deviled eggs
- Mini carrot cakes
- Birds Nest Cookies
- Peep kabobs – Slide marshmallow Peeps onto skewers with fresh fruit
